At Anderson’s Chimney and Masonry Services, we understand the vital role customer service plays in a highly competitive industry. We are confident that we will provide a professional chimney service to you. Our certifications and 25+ years in the business have equipped us with the knowledge and skills to provide you with exceptional service and quality craftsmanship. To build your respect and confidence in our company, please review our list of achievements, certifications and memberships. Since 1990 we were Anderson’s Chimney Sweeps but we are so much more than just a chimney sweep company.
Richard (Rick) Anderson, is a former Fire Chief and has been sweeping chimneys for over 32 years. Even though Rick himself isn’t actually sweeping chimneys anymore, he prides himself on the reputation Anderson’s Chimney and Masonry Services has built over the past 24 years. Our staff is certified through the CSIA (Chimney Safety Institute of America). We maintain the highest level of training available. We are active members of the NCSG (National Chimney Sweeps Guild) and the Pennsylvania Guild of Professional Chimney Sweeps. Rick has served both as President of the PA Guild and as an Ethics Committee board member of the NCSG.
Fire Prevention Built our Passion
As a young firefighter, Rick acquired a vast knowledge of fire science. This passion led him to further study fire science in college. The Fire Department had provided a traditional community service of sweeping chimneys that he took part of for many years. Unfortunately, the lack of funds and support to the Fire Department led to the termination of this service. At that point, an unknown opportunity had been given to him- the beginning of his own chimney sweeping business. His first vehicle and sweeping equipment was purchased and he never looked back. In 1990 Anderson’s Chimney Sweeps opened for business and Rick began sweeping chimneys full-time in the Harrisburg area.
As certified certified sweeps, we are held to national standards of the NFPA. NFPA 211 for wood burning, NFPA 54 for gas appliances and NFPA 31 for oil appliances. All of our work is always conducted professionally and in compliance with these and any other local government codes that apply. Our professional opinions will be based on our experience and education.
Continued Growth & Success
Anderson’s Chimney Sweeps, Inc., now Anderson’s Chimney and Masonry Services continues to grow and expand our service area. In 1998, the purchase of Top Hat Chimney allowed for the start of that additional growth. Advertising began taking us to Lancaster on a regular basis. Our growth included adding an additional need for office space and a storage facility, moving the company to warehouse space in New Cumberland. In 2010 Everett Grove of E&T Chimney started planning his retirement. We purchased E&T Chimney in 2012 and started servicing the areas of Hanover, Abbottstown, Gettysburg and Chambersburg. We also changed our name to show that we are more than just a chimney sweep. Anderson’s has grown to the largest full service chimney service company in the area. We handle all of your chimney and venting needs. From chimney and furnace liners, chimney caps, stove and insert installs, masonry fireplace repairs and rebuilding, leaking chimney issues and video chimney scan inspections.
Anderson’s Chimney and Masonry Services now services 8 counties. The complete service area extends from the Maryland State Line (south) to Duncannon (north). From Chambersburg (west) to Lancaster (east). Even though our actual call center and mailing address are in New Cumberland, we are always available to you and have our service vehicles traveling in neighborhoods “everywhere” in South Central PA.
The success of the company has been built on honest and professional service. “We look forward to being your sweep for life” has been our plan since the start. Educating employees and customers has been a priority since day one. This level of excellence will continue to grow as we continue to seek ways to better serve our customers.
Thank you to our Customers
Thank you for the opportunity to serve you. It is our goal to deliver exceptional service and workmanship and educate you on chimney and hearth safety.
We encourage you to get multiple estimates and educate yourself. The state of Pennsylvania has no requirements to work as a chimney professional. The Chimney Safety Institute of America has published valuable information that we would like for you to consider reading prior to making your chimney professional choice. We look forward to being your sweep for life.
