Chimney & Fireplace Repairs

Most chimney problems start small but progress fast. The keys to keeping your chimney safe are annual chimney inspections and necessary repair work by our certified technicians, who understand your chimney and fireplace system inside and out.

Anderson’s Chimney & Masonry Service of New Cumberland, PA, has provided expert repairs and inspections for our customers since 1990. Let us help you keep your chimney and fireplace safe and running right.

Chimney Masonry Repair & Rebuilding

Damaged chimney masonry can lead to structural instability, water leaks and poor performance. We can approach masonry problems in several ways:

Chimney rebuilding: Chimneys with significant damage often need to be rebuilt either partially or from the ground up. Our code-compliant rebuilding work will restore your chimney in a way that makes it safe, functional and nice to look at once again.

Brick replacement: For minor damage, we’ll replace cracked or spalling bricks with top-quality new bricks.

Tuckpointing: This is where we scrape out sections of decayed mortar between the bricks and add a strong new compound that matches the existing mortar.

Chimney Crown Repair & Rebuilding

Concrete chimney crowns can crack and deteriorate, allowing water and debris to get into interior areas of the chimney structure. We use a product called CrownSeal to waterproof crowns that have minor damage.

For severely damaged crowns, we’ll do a complete rebuild, using top-quality mortar and creating a proper overhang to channel water away from the masonry below.

Chimney Liner Repair & Installation

We often address damage to clay tile liners with HeatShield, a process that fills in breaks and gaps in the flue tiles and can even recoat a liner’s entire interior surfaces.

Other times, we recommend relining your chimney with a sturdy new stainless-steel chimney liner. These insulated components are easy to work with, economical for the consumer and strong enough to contain high heat, flames acidic gases.

Licensed Chimney Inspections

All chimney repair work begins with a thorough inspection. This will tell us exactly what’s happening, why it’s happening and what needs to be done about it.

We recommend scheduling an annual chimney and fireplace inspection to spot early signs of trouble before it becomes serious.

Other Important Services

We offer complete repairs and installations for:

Firebox Repair & Restoration

Damaged refractory bricks and panels in a firebox can put flames in contact with adjacent home building materials and start a fire. A damaged firebox can also allow smoke and deadly carbon monoxide to seep into your living spaces.
