Chimney Cap Installation

Year Round Protection from the Elements

A chimney cap is a critical part of keeping your chimney and flue in good working condition. It helps in protecting your flue from rain, snow, debris, birds and other animals. It works year round, even if you don’t use your chimney year round. A chimney cap also helps the performance of your chimney by blocking wind and in doing so, keeping your chimney’s draft constant. Draft is what takes the smoke away from the firebox and out the top of the flue.

Stainless Steel Chimney Caps

Stainless steel is not only your best bet because of cost, it also out performs many other materials out there. Corrosion resistant, non-tarnishing and almost rust-proof, stainless steel chimney caps require virtually no maintenance.

Stainless steel chimney caps are available in their natural silver color and a variety of power-coated colors including ivory, tan, green, copper, brown, gray and black. Our stainless steel chimney caps carry a lifetime warranty.

Copper Chimney Caps

A mix of strength and beauty, a copper chimney cap is your choice when style is a must. Copper naturally enhances brickwork that other chimney caps don’t provide. They can be clear-coated so that they keep their original color or you can let them age to their natural patina green. Copper chimney caps do require some TLC. To keep up with its natural color they need to be cleaned regularly and clear-coated often. If you opt for a more natural copper, no need to have them clear-coated as they patina beautifully over time.

Beauty does come with a price. Copper chimney caps easily cost three times as much as its stainless steel counterpart but are extremely durable. Copper is heavier and stronger than stainless steel, and the sturdiest of options. As with stainless steel chimney caps, copper chimney caps come with a lifetime warranty.

Top Mounted Dampers

Traditional metal dampers rust over time. A top mounted damper or top mounted damper cap can be added to the top of your chimney when your damper is no longer working.
